The Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment (DETE) has launched a further call for the Online Retail Scheme. This is a financial boost for the online presence of Irish companies. The scheme is aimed at encouraging the retail sector to become more competitive online. It’s a very useful incentive for companies who have a website presence and want to increase and strengthen their ecommerce business. The idea is that companies are enabled to increase their customer base and build a more resilient business in both the domestic and global marketplace by enhancing their digital presence, honing marketing skills and implementing practical changes to their website.

The Online Retail Scheme

Dmac Media clients who previously availed of the first tranche of the Online Retail Scheme have been able to upskill digitally, invest in SEO and use targeted digital marketing to help increase their visibility online. The grant allows for website enhancement, training and the introduction of cleverly tailored digital marketing strategies. The grant has a minimum project expenditure of €20,000 and is available to both retail businesses, car dealers, hardware stores etc. It is also geared to those who provide services, legal, financial or other.

The Online Retail Scheme

Applicants must be an Irish based retail businesses that has 10 or more full-time employees and an existing online presence. The applicants must also have the potential to sustain or create jobs, generate growth in online transactions and have an ambition to internationalise their business in the future. Due to the high level of interest, there is a small window of opportunity to apply and the deadline for submissions closes on 3rd of May 2023 at 12 noon.
